SPEEDING BULLETS/ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE by The savage heart

In a secluded spot in Ireland, a passionate group of musicians comes together to create music that defies conventional boundaries. Led by Evan Walsh, formerly the drummer of The Strypes, The Savage Hearts have developed a distinct sound influenced by the enigmatic Cavan rock ’n’ roll legend, Eddie Cruizer. Their latest release, "Speeding Bullets/Only Lovers Left Alive," embodies the raw intensity and diverse inspirations that define their work, making it essential listening for enthusiasts of garage rock and psychedelia.

The Savage Hearts’ origins lie in a profound respect for Eddie Cruizer, a figure cloaked in mystery and known for his roles in obscure drive-in films like *The Creature That Ate Your Sister* and *Hot Rod Rocky & The Asbury Playboys vs Dracula*. Drawing from Cruizer’s vast knowledge of garage rock, psychedelia, rhythm & blues, and cow-punk, the band has crafted music that is both wildly chaotic and deeply engaging. Their sophomore single, released through Blowtorch Records, highlights their varied influences and exceptional musical skill.

"Speeding Bullets," co-written with Ste Kelly of Dublin's Raglans, is a powerful boogie track that challenges the listener with its vigorous energy. It transitions effortlessly into "Only Lovers Left Alive," a rapid psych-rock piece that leaves listeners craving more. Following their debut single "Gang War," which topped the Irish Downloads Chart in February 2024, this new release reinforces The Savage Hearts' reputation as a band to watch, with their debut praised for its high-energy performance and distinctive sound by numerous music outlets.

Since their inception in 2022, The Savage Hearts have become a significant force in the Irish music scene, performing at major events like Electric Picnic and Sea Sessions, and opening for legendary bands such as The Boomtown Rats and The Undertones. Their live shows are celebrated for their electrifying energy and musical skill. Their influence extends to the UK, with performances at iconic venues like the Dublin Castle in Camden and Gaz’s Rockin’ Blues in London. As they continue to draw from a broad spectrum of musical influences, The Savage Hearts are poised to make a lasting impact on the music scene, fueled by their connection to the mysterious Eddie Cruizer.
