“BIENVENIDOS,” by Proklaim

Operating within Windhoek's hip hop scene in Namibia, Proklaim stands out for his originality and creative approach to music. With a heritage rooted in Uganda and an upbringing in Zambia, he draws from a wide array of global influences to craft his distinctive sound. This unique blend sets his music apart, merging diverse elements into a cohesive and original sonic experience.

Proklaim's musical style is influenced by the legendary reggae rhythms of Bob Marley and the lyrical prowess of hip hop icons such as Wu-Tang Clan, Lauryn Hill, Big Punisher, Tupac, and Maxi Priest. These inspirations are evident in his powerful lyrics and compelling vocal performances, which have become his trademark. His distinctive approach to music combines these diverse influences into a sound that is uniquely his own.

Since the release of his debut single "One Way" in 2018, Proklaim's career has been on a steady upward trajectory, gaining recognition far beyond Namibia. His track "Kingz" received considerable attention on MTV Base in the USA, significantly boosting his international presence. Proklaim often uses his platform to tackle personal and societal issues, fostering a deep connection with his audience. This year, he has been particularly prolific, releasing music at a remarkable pace and continuously evolving his sound. His latest single, "BIENVENIDOS," exemplifies this evolution by fusing Cuban salsa with hip hop elements.

"BIENVENIDOS," recorded at Pen Pushaz studios and mastered by Wojtek Majewski at Audio Art Namibia, celebrates optimism and staying true to one's intuition. The track opens with the hazy twang of guitar tones, leading into Proklaim’s rhythmic vocals and bright trumpet lines. The pulsating rhythms and shuffling drums create a danceable vibe, with Proklaim's smooth rapped flows gliding effortlessly over the intricate instrumentation. Showcasing his ability to explore new musical territories, "BIENVENIDOS" is another exciting release that highlights Proklaim's dynamic range and artistic growth.
