“AUDIO BICYCLE DAY” by the Ari Joshua Quarter

The album brilliantly captures the essence of the classic organ trio sound from the 60s and 70s while infusing it with a contemporary edge. Ari Joshua set out to evoke that nostalgic, cinematic feel by recording everything analog, employing vintage gear and old-school techniques. Joe Doria's exceptional work on the organ, paired with the use of old analog synthesizers, creates a noir film-like atmosphere, transporting listeners to another era. This balance between old and new results in a sound that is both familiar and refreshingly modern.

At the heart of the album “Audio Bicycle Day”is the powerful chemistry between the core trio—guitarist, Joe Doria on organ, and Brad Gibson on drums. Recorded live at Studio Litho, the session was entirely analog, allowing for a raw, spontaneous energy to be captured. Floyd Reitsma’s expertise behind the board ensured that every nuance of the trio’s interplay was preserved, making the music feel alive and organic. The trio's cohesive performance is palpable, with each member contributing to the overall sound with precision and passion.

In addition to the core trio, the album features some incredible collaborations that take the music to even greater heights. Guest appearances from artists like Ray Paczkowski, Russ Lawton from Trey Anastasio Band, Delvon Lamarr, and Skerik push the sonic boundaries, introducing cosmic explorations that add new dimensions to the music. While the radio edit offers a focused representation of the album’s core vibe, these extended renditions venture into more experimental territory, providing listeners with an even richer auditory experience.

Ultimately, the album aims to immerse listeners in a lush, nostalgic soundscape that is both transportive and captivating. From Joe's soulful organ melodies to the shimmering guitar tones and immersive drum patterns, every element is crafted to draw listeners into a world of classic visuals and warm, evocative sounds. "Audio Bicycle Day" is not just an album but a journey—an opportunity to escape into a waking dream where past and present blend seamlessly. With more exciting versions on the way, this release from Music Factory Records is just the beginning of an evolving musical adventure.
